The Tennessee Outdoor Writers Association is one of the oldest state associations for professional outdoor communicators. Ever since its founding in 1942, its members have played leading roles in the field, regionally and nationally as well as at home in Tennessee.
  Throughout the years, the association has stressed the importance of craft improvement, professional ethics, development of new talent, and fellowship among its members.
